Multi activity experience

Who’s it for?

This week is for people who love the outdoors and have a good sense of adventure. No prior experience in any of the activities is necessary, but you will need a reasonable level of fitness and a big bag of enthusiasm!

Course content

Each week is planned around the tides and the weather to make the best of each activity. All food is provided so that when you arrive, you can focus on enjoying all that the area has to offer. Throughout the week we offer activities each day and all specific activity equipment is provided.

  • Hiking and exploring the neighbouring islands of Lunga.
  • Sea kayaking skills and journeys (no previous experience necessary).
  • Foraging and wild cooking.
  • Morning and afternoon yoga sessions.
  • Wild swimming, in the local bays or along the shoreline.
  • Time to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the island.
  • Projects where you can get involved with island community life.

We want you to feel relaxed and connected with nature for your stay with us. It is an opportunity to unwind in a stunning wilderness environment. Our experienced instructors are enthusiastic to show you all that the island has to offer.

The exact itinerary is open to change. We have years of experience of living on an island and adapt what we do to the weather conditions and tides.

Sunday - arrive at Easdale, on the Isle of Seil and travel by powerboat to The Island. Welcome meal and chat.

Monday - Sea kayak skills day, with a focus on learning the basics and controlling the kayak. We might go for a little journey too.

Tuesday – A morning yoga session with our local instructor Jo, a beautiful way to start they day to get you moving, stretching, and breathing. After this session there is some free time to relax and enjoy the island and maybe go for a walk to North point. Then another afternoon yoga session with a more relaxed focus and some meditation. These sessions are suitable for complete beginners and can be run outside if its good weather or alternatively in our boat house yoga studio.

Wednesday – A days hike to our neighbouring islands on Lunga, these can be accessed at low tide by foot. They are wild and rugged but are an amazing place to explore and are teeming with wildlife. A climb to the summit, deer spotting en-route, a visit to the beach for a picnic lunch and a swim, or searching out one of the many caves might all be on the agenda.

Thursday – A day of foraging, we will use the land and sea to search out some tasty treats. We use a combination of walking and kayaking to access all the best places, then maybe a fire to cook some of our foraged delights. There are also some great spots for fishing, we keep a selection of equipment but do please bring your own rod if you have one.

Friday – A rest day where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the island, or if you still have some energy left, we are always keen for volunteers to help us with the island community work. Tasks might include, path building, cleaning up plastic and waste washed up from the sea, helping with the vegetable plot, managing the surrounding grounds, or helping Mollie with preparing a foraged meal! A swim in one of the bays is often a good option to cool off too!

Departure is at 5pm by powerboat back to Easdale on the Isle of Seil.

We want you to feel at home when you are here so please feel free to opt out of activities for a day if you choose…after all its your holiday!
